The official ‘SUPPORT SOCCER’ specialty license plate costs $25.00. The proceeds are distributed to The Lighthouse Soccer Foundation, Inc., Florida Youth Soccer Association (FYSA), (including TOPSoccer), Florida State Adult Soccer Association and funding is available as grants for programs that promote soccer in Florida.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the license plate go to FYSA for programs and services that foster the physical, mental and emotional growth and development of Florida's youth through the sport of soccer at all levels of age and competition, including a portion to be determined by FYSA for the TOPSoccer program to promote participation by the physically and mentally disadvantaged.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the license plate go to FSSA to promote the sport of soccer and the long-term development of the sport.
40% of the proceeds from the sale of the license plate are available as grants in three categories:
Light The Way (Type 1) - for programs that promote participation by the economically disadvantaged and to support soccer programs where none previously existed;
Build (Type 2) - for programs that promote and support the construction of fields and soccer specific infrastructure;
Education, Health and Fitness (Type 3) - for programs that foster and promote health, physical fitness and educational opportunities through soccer.
Grant applications are available for FY 2009-10.
